Restoring Salt Hill stream
Attendees of the Slough Wetlands launch event in September
Slough Borough Council has teamed up with the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust (WWT) to deliver an exciting new community project in Slough with an aim to restore the health of the Salt Hill Stream.
The project will initially focus on two key areas, Salt Hill Park and Temple Wood in Chalvey. The aim is to create beautiful wetland habitats with picnic areas and places for people to enjoy nature. These spaces will also provide a place for people to get active and improve their health and wellbeing.
Slough residents are being asked to help in any way they can, be it offering their opinions or digging a pond, to everything in between.
If you are interested in being involved in the project or have ideas about how to make Slough a better place for people and wildlife, keep an eye out for updates about community engagement events near you.
There will also be plenty of volunteering opportunities throughout this project.
