It’s better by bike!

Better by

Transport for Slough launched its sustainable travel campaign Better by… this year, which is designed to enable and encourage workplaces, schools and the wider community to switch to more environmentally-friendly forms of travel.

Cycling is an integral part of the scheme and there are a number of initiatives happening throughout the borough to assist residents of all ages and abilities to be involved, whatever their situation.

From cycling lessons and bicycle hire to cycle maintenance and storage, there is a wide variety of cycling activities that could help you to make that switch to bike.

Cycle lessons and training

Better by… has teamed up with leading cycle training specialists Cycle Experience to run a range of subsidised lessons in Salt Hill Park. The sessions, which include basic, advanced and urban cycle skills classes, are suitable for everyone as they cater for all ages and abilities; from children and adults learning to cycle for the first time to teens and adults looking to brush up on their skills and confidence.

Cycle maintenance training courses are also running at Cycle Experience’s Slough office, teaching the skills and techniques needed to carry out basic cycle maintenance. All sessions cost £5 and can be booked at the Cycle Experience website or by calling 0330 024 1783.
