Welcome to the autumn edition
Welcome to this edition of the Citizen. This issue reflects the turn of summer into autumn; with a look back at last month’s horticultural show, leisure and outdoor events; and a look forward to the Slough Bonfire event in November.
Autumn is also when the council compiles the new electoral register for publication in December, so make sure you respond to the electoral canvass to ensure you can use your right to vote in next year’s elections!
The council and its partners work all year round to improve public health and to provide care and support for Slough residents – but with the weather turning colder we have information on flu prevention planning, aside from “day on the job pieces” about health visitors to learn more about the services in the sector.
Slough’s 5k run and half marathon take place on 14 October. There’s still time to enter the fun run if you’re feeling active, however the Citizen should provide a good read from the comfort of a chair, as a more sedentary leisure pursuit!
With best wishes,
James Swindlehurst, leader of the council.
