The Centre scoops international award for architectural design

The Centre has achieved worldwide recognition after being named the winner of the Best Leisure Architecture UK Award at the International Property Awards.
Managed by Everyone Active, The Centre opened in March 2019, following a multi-million pound investment from partners Slough Borough Council. It was delivered through Slough Urban Renewal (SUR), a proud partnership between the council and Morgan Sindall Investments Limited.
The architectural design came top of the list in the preliminary regional round for South East England, and wasalso awarded ‘5 Star’ - the highest national award available.
It was then re-judged by a panel of expert judges from all over the world, before winning the prestigious overall UK title in the Best Leisure Architecture category.
Commenting on the award, Luke Routhorn, Contract Manager at Everyone Active, said: “The Centre was specifically designed to meet the increased demand from local residents and breathe new life into Slough’s sports and leisure offering, so we’re delighted it has achieved international recognition for this aspect.

“The site has been transformed into a state-of-the-art leisure centre, and we are very proud to work with Slough Borough Council in achieving this.” Cllr Natasa Pantelic, cabinet member for health and wellbeing, Slough Borough Council, said: “This award demonstrates just how much we are investing in the health of our residents, providing award-winning facilities to encourage people to keep fit and active. Well done to all involved in this amazing achievement.”

The Centre offers a range of facilities, including two swimming pools, a gym, four-court sports hall, a sauna, a steam, three exercise studios and a café.
