Pre-bookable evening and weekend blood tests
Residents will be able to take advantage of evening and weekend appointments to have blood tests, in a new scheme.
The appointments are bookable as part of the extended access to GP services in Slough, which allows people who find it difficult to take time off work or have other commitments during daytime hours to access general practice at a time more suitable to them.
The extended access to GP services is provided by Bharani Medical centre from its practice in Lansdowne Avenue. The service runs between 6.30-8pm Monday to Friday and between 9am-2pm at weekends. (Pictured is Dr Bharan Kumar, a GP at Bharani Medical Centre and Ragstone Road surgery).
Blood tests and other evening and weekend appointments with local GPs, nurses and other healthcare professionals take place outside of normal general practice working hours at this site.
People must be registered with a GP surgery in Slough in order to access these additional appointments, which must be booked in advance via their own GP practice.
The service cannot accept walk-in patients and is in addition to some GP practices offering routine blood test appointments Monday to Friday.
